PML-N leader stresses the supremacy of Parliament

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Malik Ahmed Khan, has expressed concerns about the Lahore High Court (LHC) favoring Imran Khan and his party in the foreign funding case.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Mr. Khan stressed that justice should be equal for all and warned against the dangers of politics influencing institutions.

"If Ms. Rafia Tariq was claiming to get favorable decisions from the court because of her relationship with these judges, then it is very dangerous. If the courts were getting influenced or not, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) should investigate," he said.

Mr. Khan also reiterated the supremacy of parliament and emphasized that only parliament had the authority to legislate.

He called for elections in the country to be held on a single day, saying that the current situation was crises.

"Public's billions of rupees are being demanded just to get them to meet with Imran Khan for party tickets," he added.

According to Mr. Khan, there is no greater conspiracy than causing people to lose faith in the electoral process.

The PML-N leader further criticized the court's decision to disqualify 25 members of provincial assemblies, saying that the constitution was being rewritten.

He also took a swipe at the Supreme Court for saying that the court said votes would be submitted but not counted.

"Despite the evidence in the foreign funding case, Imran Khan and his party got favors in LHC. Some matters have become so bad that there is no room to say anything," he concluded.

The situation in Pakistan continues to be tense, with many questioning the transparency of the electoral process and the impartiality of institutions.

The call for investigations into allegations of political influence on the courts and other institutions is likely to continue.
